Press on, Princess!

Sometimes life gets hard.

Actually, it might be more honest to say, most of the time, life is hard.

Well that’s sure encouraging, isn’t it? (I say sarcastically) Definitely the message you wanted to hear from a blog that wants to give ‘Encouragement for God’s Girls,’ huh? (NOT)

Thankfully, that’s not the end of the story!

I was reading in Hebrews where the author talks about faith. He gives a definition of faith and then proceeds tells of all the ‘Bible Heros’ who had great faith. He mentions Noah, Abraham, Moses, Abel, Enoch, Rahab and the Israelites as they took over Jericho, Jacob, Joseph, and others.

There were many similarities between all these characters, but the biggest is that they all had the faith to obey God, even though it was hard.

When they suffered for it.

Even though people laughed at them for it.

Even though they didn’t know where they were headed.

They obeyed God, even when the results were uncertain and things weren’t ‘in their favor.’

Because they had faith. And they used it!

In verse one of Hebrews 11, the author says that ”faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.’

All of those people, had confidence that God would keep His promises, even though they couldn’t see them coming to pass. Indeed, some of them never saw God’s promises fulfilled while they were in this life.

So, princess, when life is hard, do you have confidence that God will keep His promises?

When you’re world is falling apart, do you believe that it will work out for the good? (Romans 8:28)

When everyone else has left you and God seems to be silent, do you remain confident that He’ll never leave you? (Psalm 23:4)

When life is hard, do you have faith that God is still good? (Exodus 34:6)

Like the Biblical characters that the author of Hebrews points to, we ought to continue the work that God has called us to do, even when it’s hard. Even when we don’t like where it leads us. Even when people laugh at us. and mock us. and persecute us. Press on, princess! You’ll be rewarded, God promises.

In short, even when life is hard, God is good! Hold fast to that truth!

I hope you have a marvelous day!
