You Are More Than You Say You Are, Princess!

I don’t know about you, but I tend to do a lot of really stupid things (Just ask my siblings, it’s not a rare occurrence). It could be a dumb question, some really stupid action, or anything in between. But as soon as I do it, I’ll feel like a dumbbell, that I’m incapable of doing anything useful or helpful in life, and that I’ll never amount to much of anything. And I’ll tell myself that over and over and over.

But there’s a problem with that. It’s not true.

That’s not what God thinks of you. Yes, God sees your flaws and He is disappointed when you make a wrong move, but that’s not what defines you. No, He sees you as the righteousness of His Son —and that’s perfection. (2 Corinthians 5:21)

In fact, He views you as beautiful. As His very child. He thinks of you as wonderful. And when you make a bad move, He forgives you. And He instructs you in order that you’ll make a better decision next time. Yes, that’s how your Father views you.

In fact, when you start telling yourself that you’re so dumb, that’s an attack on your identity by the devil. So, princess, next time you hear that voice, remember, that’s not what your Daddy views you. I say this because I need to practice that. I, as my friends can attest, am constantly telling myself and others about what a dumbo I am. So I am writing this as a reminder to myself.

Remember how God sees you.

Remember you are loved.

You are redeemed.

You are made alive through Christ.

You are sealed by the Holy Spirit, so that you are guaranteed that you are His.

You are a citizen of heaven.

You are a child of God — that makes you a princess of the Most High.

Princess, you’re not dumb. That’s not what God calls you —so don’t call yourself that!! So make it a point to stop yourself before you say it. Because what you think becomes what you say. What you say becomes what you believe. So take your thoughts captive (as the Apostle Paul wrote). Have an accurate perception of who you are! Don’t give the devil an opportunity to pry on your identity. You ARE God’s Girl. Live like it! and think like it!
